Refund policy
Returns:
- Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
- To be eligible for a return, your item(s) must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
- Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, beer, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.
- Additional non-returnable items:
- Gift cards
- Downloadable software products
- Some health and personal care items (such as face masks, bandanas etc.)
- To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable):
- Please contact [email protected] with your request. Please include the name on the order, email address used to order, order # and an explanation and reason for the refund request.
- Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or Missing Refunds (if applicable):
- If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
- Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
- Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. (Normally, it can take anywhere from 3-5 business days at a minimum for a bank to process a refund transaction).

Sale items (if applicable):
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable):
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged.
- If you need to exchange it for the same item, please contact [email protected] with your request. Please include the name on the order, email address used to order, order # and an explanation and reason for the refund request - photographic evidence of the damage and or defect will be requested.
- Once received and approved you will be issued a return label (paid by us) via email in which you can send back the damaged/defective item. Once we receive the item back we will immediately send out the replacement item.
Gifts:
- If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
- If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
"Rejected" International Orders:
- For international/world wide shipping - It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they have correctly entered their contact information and shipping address. If for any reason the package is attempted to be delivered and gets sent back to customs, BLACK PLAGUE is not responsible for the package at this point and we will not issue refunds or store credit in this scenario. Due to the way customs works, the package may not even make it back to us. Additionally, there are various fees associated with returned packages that then fall on the business if they want to retrieve the package from either customs or the shipping courier. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences pertaining to this issue.
- For orders that are placed as DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), it is the responsibility of the customer to finish paying for all fees upon delivery. If the order arrives and is rejected due to refusal to pay the remaining fees, we will not refund any items in the order. DDU with vary from country to country internationally.
Shipping:

- You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
- Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
- If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item(s).

Pick-Up Order Policy:
If you place an order online for pickup at the taproom, we kindly ask that you pick it up within a 30 day time frame during our taproom hours.
Please keep the following in mind:
1. We can only hold beer for 30 days after which we will be required to dispose of the beer with no refund if not picked up during the designated time frame.
2. Crowlers are generally "fresh" for 1-2 weeks depending on the style of beer. We highly recommend picking up your crowlers as soon as possible. Please be aware of a crowers shelf life. We cannot refund crowlers due to this reason and also as they are made to order.
3. At a maximum - we can only hold merchandise orders for 90 days. If a merchandise order has not been picked up within the 90-day time frame - the order will be restocked with a 7% restocking fee. The remaining total paid for the order minus the 7% fee will be refunded to the customer.
